| In October 1997, India Foundation of
the Arts and Prakash Garud of Bala Baliga organized a Shadow-Play
Workshop at Dharwad, in Karnataka. I was invited to provide new designs
for shadow puppets based on the traditional leather puppet art of
Karnataka. During this process I got to interact with traditional
puppeteers and various theatre people and at the end of a period of
3 months, I designed about 30 puppets and got them executed on leather
with students from the Dharwad fine art colleges. The play has been
successfully playing since then. |
