In Sept 1994, I was invited by Designer
Rajeev Sethi to Raghurajpur in Orissa, to conduct a Papier-Mâché Workshop
along with UK based sculptor Andrew Logan. The aim here was to re-introduce
the possibilities of this versatile medium and also to expose the
artisans to different designers, colours, themes and technologies
with the objective of expanding the markets and providing self-sustaining
income generation schemes. This was my first real introduction to
a folk form and the fascinating experience started off my need to
explore the various folk forms of India. |
